This photograph of the Palace Diner in Biddeford, Maine was taken in May of 2001. The camera I used was my Argus 21 Markfinder loaded with Kodak Elite Chrome slide film. Exposure was f/16 @1/100 sec, bracketed one stop over and under.

Ted's Diner was previously located in Milford, Massachusetts but is now in storage. This photograph was taken with my Argus 21 Markfinder loaded with Kodak Elite Chrome 100 slide film. Exposure: f/16@ 1/100 sec, bracketed one full stop over and under.

The State Line Diner on Route 6 in Foster, Rhode Island, photographed with my Argus C-3 Standard camera in March 2001. Kodak Elite Chrome 100 slide film, exposed at f/16 for 1/100 sec, bracketed one full stop over and under.

This photograph was taken in early September 2001. I was shooting my Pentax P-30t, with the SMC 35-70mm zoom lens. The film was Kodak Gold 100 and the exposure was made using the camera's AE program flash mode.

The subject is Olneyville New York System Wieners in Providence, Rhode Island.

What are New York System Wieners you ask?

The short answer is that they are wieners dressed with a mysteriously wonderful ground meat sauce (note I did not say beef), with onions and celery salt. If you are ever in Rhode Island, be sure to order your wieners "all the way."

Why was I taking pictures inside a wiener restaurant? Well, I submitted the idea to Bill Griffith, the wonderful creator of the comic strip Zippy the Pinhead as a possible "real place" location for a strip.

This is the beautiful neon sign outside of Olneyville New York System Hot Weiners.

Again this was taken with my Pentax P-30t, the SMC Takumar 35-70mm zoom lens and Kodak Gold 100 film.

The exposure was handheld for 1/60 sec at f/3.5
